Christian Isaac Staheli
was born at 11:01am on July 21, 2010. He weighed 7lbs 4 oz and 18 inches long.
Christian was born at 37.5 weeks gestation, and has been my first baby to have labor start by contractions instead of my water braking. We went to the hospital at 3am, after quite an ordeal trying to find someone to come stay with the girls. We tried several people but no one answered their phone. Finally I called a YW in our ward, Becka Cox and she came over (MY LIFESAVER!!).
When I got to the hospital I was contracting 2-2 1/2 minutes apart but was only dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. With minimal progression over an hour, they normally would have sent me home but the baby had multiple decelerations with contractions, meaning he was stressed during the contractions, so the nurse said "your staying and your having a baby today."
Dr. Callahan broke my water at 9am, got my epidural and we had a baby at 11:01am.
Unfortunately, as perfect as he is, he was taken to the NICU a couple of minutes after he was born.When Christian didn't response well to the Neopuff, he was taken to NICU and placed on a CPAP of 8. A baby can go to NICU for 6 hours and not be admitted but Christian, though he weaned off the CPAP and changed to HFCN (high flow nasal canula) of 6, he was not well enough to leave, so he was admitted.

He is perfect and wonderful and we are so happy to have him part of our family!!

Ohhhh! He's such a handsome little guy! Poor thing but, so glad he is doing better and gets to come home!!!! Phew! Tell Daniel we said , "Woo Woo! Hubba hubba!" Can't wait to see Christian and kiss his face off.
